Meet Mr. LeSeur
Greenbelt Middle School's Counseling Department
Welcome! I'm Michaeux LeSeur, and I am honored to serve as the school counselor.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in English from Morehouse College and a Master of Education from Howard University. This December, I will earn my School Counseling License from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. I have spent over 15 years in education. My professional journey includes work at Prince George’s County Community College, Westwood College, Alexandria City Public Schools, Prince George’s County Public Schools, and District of Columbia Public Schools.

I am deeply passionate about literature, student empowerment, and mental wellness, and I love paddle boarding, traveling, and animals (especially French bulldogs!). Last year, I traveled to Cartagena and attended the Olympics in Paris, both incredible experiences that enriched my perspective on cultural identity and global education.
ASCA National Model- 4 Components
Define
The Define component is the description of what school counselors do and why the role is crucial to supporting all students. It speaks to the mission and vision of the school counseling program as well as the ASCA student and professional standards that guide counselors in making decisions, ensuring that school counselors provide fair and effective services.
Manage
The Manage component is how the school counselor stays organized and purposeful throughout the year. School counselors need to use calendars, data tracking, and the advisory council to make sure the work supports the students. This section speaks to how counselors set goals and need to spend their time and plan things that meet the needs of the students within the building.
Deliver
The Deliver component is how the school counselor both directly and indirectly supports the students within the building. This includes small groups, lessons, one-on-one counseling, consulting with guardians, staff, teachers and stakeholders within the community. Everything that a school counselor delivers is to support student growth in three developmental domains. These domains are academics, social emotional learning and career development.
Assess
The Assess component is where school counselors figure out what is working and what needs to be improved. This is where data is used to check the impact of the program. The school counseling program should adjust as needed. This ensures that the program is continuing to grow and offering the best support that the students can get throughout the building.
